About prosthetics (fitting of dentures)

Dental prosthetics most often aim to reconstruct teeth when they have been damaged (illness, aging, trauma). It thus makes it possible to restore its forms as well as the functions of chewing and speaking. It can also be used to improve its aesthetics.

Different types of prostheses can be used, depending on the patient's needs: fixed or removable prostheses, bridge, single crown, veneers, jackets, etc.

Why does dental aesthetics require specific care?

The smile is a vital element of the face and its expression. Any modification impacts the aesthetics of the entire face. The smile also greatly influences the subjective perception of the person's age. Harmonious and bright teeth tend to “rejuvenate” the image of the face, while yellow and damaged teeth tend to age it. Not to mention that having a beautiful smile makes you smile more and gives you confidence, which also influences social relationships. For all these reasons, we pay particular attention to aesthetic requests.

Dental aesthetics requires specific care. Indeed, when a patient decides to improve the aesthetics of their smile, it is not necessarily easy for them to know precisely what changes they want. The change must be harmonious with the face and consistent with expectations which are not necessarily stated. The dentist must therefore be able to perceive the patient's expectations, to advise him on all aspects, whether medical or aesthetic; and take the time to discuss the different possible options with him.
